In the year 1998, with its first branch in Balayan, Batangas, John & Carl Trading was established and registered as a Single Proprietorship business, engaged in retailing of general hardware, lumber and construction materials.

Since then, the company continued to expand its services by opening 11 branches across Batangas, Cavite, and Pampanga areas.

In the year 2018, John & Carl Builders Depot, now a corporation, opened its 2 newest depot type branches in (1) Puting Kahoy, Silang, Cavite, (2) in Sagbat, Nasugbu Batangas. With better facilities, layout, and design, these new stores will satisfy the delicate needs of more discerning customers. Its partnership with the leading brands in construction materials and its venture into global importation ensures that new technologies and innovations are readily available to meet the growing demands of the construction industry.

The first venture in the North area was opened to the public last October 2020 in Angeles, Pampanga. 

Third-quarter of the year 2021, John & Carl Furniture Hub opened at Silang, Cavite.
